Transport & Logistics Manager

The Transport and Logistics Manager will oversee the operation management of the entire fleet of trucks within the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring maximum profitability of the division through strategic planning, efficient utilization of resources, and adherence to best practices in transport and logistics management.


Key responsibilities

  • Fleet Management: Manage the entire fleet of trucks, ensuring optimal utilization of resources to maximize the number of trips while minimizing downtime.
  • Profitability: Develop and implement strategies to enhance profitability, including cost reduction initiatives, optimizing fuel efficiency, and negotiating favorable contracts with suppliers and clients.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate timely maintenance schedules for trucks in collaboration with the maintenance department to ensure fleet reliability and minimize breakdowns.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, permits, and safety standards governing transportation operations.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the transport and logistics team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement systems to monitor and evaluate the performance of drivers, trucks, and routes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators, financial metrics, and operational efficiency to senior management.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to negotiate contracts, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns promptly and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the division identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets for the transport and logistics division, forecasting expenses and revenue to support strategic decision-making.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to transportation operations, including security, safety, and environmental risks.
  • communication within the diverse workforce. Preferably a male, Indian. Candidate with a valid UAE LMV license will be given preference.
  • Special Working conditions
  • As a department head, he/she should be available anytime for work, in case of any emergency.
  • Reporting
  • To VP-Commercials for the routine operation related matters, to CEO 1. for weekly briefing and review 2. as and when called for.
